Welcome to St Paul's website. This is rather a new venture for us, and, as such, is a little experimental. We hope, however, that it will help you to get to know us, and to discover what we are about.

St Paul's is an Anglican church with the celebration of the Eucharist at the heart of its services. We place an emphasis on prayer and worship, and value opportunities to be still before God. We seek to offer a warm welcome and the opportunity for refreshments, fellowship and a chance to browse the Fairtrade stall after our main 10 am service. We aim to share the deep riches of God's love for the world by encouraging and supporting one another to discover that God is present in all of life. We have a small junior and youth church who very much see themselves as part of the congregation and who regularly contribute to our All Age Worship services.

Things we offer, both to the community and to the gathered church

The services at St Paul's follow a weekly pattern. There are typically three services on a Sunday – our main service is at 10am, but you are welcome to join us at the 8am or the 6:30pm too!

The 10am service is usually a communion service – children and young people are welcome, and have their own activities during the readings, sermon and intercessions, returning for the eucharist itself. Typically, every second Sunday of the month is all age service – the young people stay in and will usually have some input to the service itself. Occasionally, e.g. for Remembrance Sunday, or Harvest Thanksgiving, the service does not involve Holy Communion. On such Sundays, the evening service will be a said Holy Communion.

On Wednesdays, there is a well supported service of Holy Communion at 9:30am, and a service of quiet prayer at 8:15pm.

Services are also held on the fourth Sunday of the month at the Walcote Drive community centre for those who live nearby.

St Paul's has an open baptism policy – if you are thinking of having your child baptised, and either live within or have close connections to the parish, please do get in touch. Similarly, if you are a teenager or adult and would like to explore the possibility of being baptised, do get in touch!

We'll marry you too! We take pride in how we prepare couples for their marriage.

If you are divorced and your former partner is still alive, special procedures apply. At St Paul's we follow the bishops' guidelines on the re-marriage of those who are divorced – it may not be possible to remarry all who would wish. In those circumstances, we would usually be able to offer a service of dedication after a civil wedding.

The clergy are always willing to visit any in the parish who are seriously ill, or at the point of death, whatever their connection with the church. The process of arranging a funeral begins with seeing an undertaker who will make arrangements with the minsters at the church in due course.

We take funerals for those who live in, or have close connections with the parish, either at the church or at the crematorium. The taking of funerals is shared between the clergy and readers (fully trained lay ministers) of the parish.
